Visible water plugging fast curing epoxy grout

Treatment purpose: use pinhole method to inject slurry to deep structure, and fill the cracks (crevices) with visible water fast plugging epoxy resin material, so as to squeeze water out the cracks and voids of the structure, and restore the density and structural integrity of the lining concrete.


GENERAL

I. Treatment Technology for Construction Joints, Structural Cracks, Cold Joints, and Broken Cracks

Treatment purpose: use pinhole method to inject slurry to deep structure, and fill the cracks (crevices) with visible water fast plugging epoxy resin material, so as to squeeze water out the cracks and voids of the structure, and restore the density and structural integrity of the lining concrete.


Method: Use a slightly damaged method-a pinhole oblique side drilling method-to inject visible water fast plugging epoxy resin material, and carry out strengthening treatment while plugging the leakage. The material is fast curing, solvent-free, low viscosity, and has strong bonding strength. It allows the lining concrete with cracks to recover to form a whole body, which can prevent leakage due to vibration, deformation, damage and recurrence.


Construction steps:

1) Cleaning: Use a wire brush to clean the surface, and then use an air compressor to clean the surface; check and analyze the cracks, and determine the location, spacing and depth of the drill holes.


2) Drilling: Use high-power impact hammers and other drilling tools to drill across the cracks on both sides of the crack. The hole distance is 25~30cm, the drill bit diameter is 10~14mm, the drilling angle should be ≤45°, and the drilling depth is ≤2/3 of structure thickness. The drill hole must pass through the crack, but the structure must not be penetrated. The distance between the drill hole and the crack should be ≤1/2 of structure thickness.


3) Seam washing: Use an air compressor to blow air into the injection nozzle to blow away the fine dust in the seam.


4) Nozzle installation: Install a injection nozzle (also called a water stop probe, with a check valve structure) in the drilled hole, and tighten it with a special Allen wrench to expand the expansion bolt behind the probe to close the crack surface. But keep the observation hole and the pressure relief vent.


5) Injection: Use a high-pressure injection machine to pour grout into the injection hole (nozzle), gradually injecting from bottom to top or from side to side. When the injection material comes out from the adjacent hole or crack surface observation hole, keep the pressure for 10~ 30s, and observe the situation of grout out of the joint, and then properly refill the grouting materials. It is necessary to refill the injection for several times and stop injection until the pressure change of the injection is relatively smooth.


6) Nozzle removal: After the injection is completed, the exposed injection nozzle can be removed after confirming that the epoxy resin is fully cured. Clean up the cured injection materials that has spilled.


7) Slot treatment: open V-shaped groove along the seam, keep it dry after cleaning, and apply special primer, then fill with high elastic polyurethane sealant. Clean the surface on both sides of the crack with a sand mill, and apply polyurethane topcoat, which can basically restore the original surface color.


II. Treatment Technology for Large-Area Leakage Water

1) When the water leakage is large, first pour polyurethane grouting material to the back of the structure to stop the water; then regrout visible water fast plugging epoxy resin material for strengthening. The construction steps are the same as the treatment steps of construction joints, structural cracks, cold joints, and broken cracks.


2) The plum-shaped pinhole grouting method is used for water seepage on the pockmarked surface to grout visible water fast plugging epoxy resin material for plugging and strengthening. The construction steps are the same as treatment steps of construction joints, structural cracks, cold joints, and broken cracks.


3) For the leaking parts of the tiny cracks (the cracks are less than 0.01mm) that cannot be grouted, the cement-based permeable crystalline waterproof material (Saimite) can be painted, so that the crystals with strong permeability can fully fill the small water seepage cracks in the leakage part.


4) Use the above methods to restore the compactness and structural integrity of the defective concrete, and squeeze the water out of the cracks and pores of the second lining. Then use cement-based permeable crystalline waterproof material (Saimite) to spray or scrape to enhance the anti-permeability effect of the structure and play a dual role of waterproofing and strengthening.


5) After plugging the roots of embedded parts such as pipe fittings and reinforcing steel heads, the sealant should be slotted and inserted.


6) Finally, a pneumatic drill or a high-power electric hammer is used to drill through the lining structure at the location with large-area leakage to relieve pressure and drain, forming a new effective blind drainage pipe, diverting and draining the water to the catchment well to realize the combination of blocking and drainage.


III. Materials Selection

The materials used for plugging and strengthening are:

1. Visible water fast plugging epoxy resin material

2. High elastic polyurethane sealant

3. Polyurethane top coating

4. Cement-based permeable crystalline waterproof material (Saimite)
